Hello, I’m Paula - a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor, BSc (Hons), and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
If you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or carrying a lot right now, it’s important to know that you don’t have to go through it alone.
I offer a calm, compassionate space where you can pause, speak freely, and gently explore whatever’s on your mind. I’ll listen with warmth and care. No judgement, no pressure. This is your space, and we’ll go at a pace that feels right for you.
You can meet with me in person in Crewe, or online from anywhere in the UK. If you’d like to get a feel for how we might work together, I offer a free 15 minute phone call where you can ask any questions and see if it feels like a good fit.

What is Person-Centred Counselling?
This type of counselling is a gentle but powerful form of therapy developed in the 1950's by psychologist Carl Rogers. He believed that when people are offered the right conditions of empathy, honesty, and genuine acceptance, they can begin to understand themselves more deeply and move toward healing in their own way.
This approach trusts that you are the expert in your own life. The role of the counsellor is not to tell you what to do, but to offer a safe, respectful space where you can explore whatever feels most important to you. There’s no judgement, no pressure, just a space to be yourself.
How It Can Help
Person-centred counselling can be truly life-changing. It offers room to untangle difficult feelings, reflect on your experiences, and reconnect with parts of yourself that may have been lost or overlooked.
Over time, you may find:
You don’t need to have everything figured out to begin. If something feels heavy, confusing, or hard to name, this kind of counselling can help you explore it at your own pace, in your own time.
Whether your baby is currently in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or those early days are part of your past, the experience can stay with you in ways that are hard to explain. Whether your baby is currently in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or those early days are part of your past, the experience can stay with you in ways that are hard to explain. You may be feeling anxious, isolated, disconnected or unsure how to process everything you've been through. whether you're currently going through it or still carrying the impact years later.
Counselling can help you process difficult memories, reduce feelings of guilt or anxiety, and explore the parts of the experience you may not have had space to talk about elsewhere.
As a mum of two sons who were born prematurely, I truly understand how emotional and complex that journey can be. You won’t need to justify how you're feeling. This is a space where your story matters and where you’ll be met with understanding and care.
You are not alone, and support is here for you, whenever you’re ready.
Please reach us at paulawalkercounselling@outlook.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
The cost of a counselling session is £45 for 1 hour.
Counselling can be weekly, fortnightly or monthly depending on your goals.
Having a baby on the neonatal unit can be challenging. I can help you to explore your thoughts and feelings in a confidential space.
I can help with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem relationship problems, grief and loss, and more.
